Could spherical screens be closer than we think?

We’ve long made fun of those who ever thought the world was flat, but all these years later and we primarily view maps on two-dimensional surfaces that can’t accurately show the Earth — partly thanks to the flat screens we use all day long. Spherical screens would solve that problem, of course, and according to The New York Times , they soon may become inexpensive enough to be freed from the science centers they currently occupy and set up shop in schools and maybe even homes.
