RIM reports loss of $235 million in Q2 2013, 7.4 million smartphones shipped

RIM just released its Q2 2013 financial report, claiming a loss of $235 million on revenues of $2.9 billion. The troubled smartphone maker shipped 7.4 million smartphones in the quarter and approximately 130,000 PlayBook tablets. Losses were less than last quarter, which totaled over half a billion dollars, and revenues were slightly up as well. Year over year, revenues were down 31 percent.
