Boeing to outfit planes for in-flight cellphone use by 2013

Boeing has announced plans to outfit some of its aircraft with equipment that would allow for in-flight cellphone use. In a press release issued Wednesday, the company said it has begun installing connectivity systems on all 747 and 777 planes, and that they should be completely cellphone-friendly by 2013. In addition to allowing for incoming and outgoing calls, these systems will provide Wi-Fi connectivity and live TV broadcasts, though it remains to be seen whether they actually take off
